What is Sculptra®?

Sculptra® is a dermal filler that contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Sculptra® stimulates your body to produce new collagen, which helps to restore facial volume.
It’s not like traditional hyaluronic acid fillers, which plump up depressed faces and smooth creases. Within the deep dermis, Sculptra® helps to replace and reinforce the skin’s collagen structure. Collagen is a fibrous protein found in the deep dermis of the skin that gives its structure. Elastin is an elastic protein that helps the skin maintain its shape, while HA nourishes the skin and keeps it hydrated.
Collagen helps both elastin and hyaluronic acid (HA) perform its tasks, thus the more collagen you have, the more elastin and HA you have.

Over the first four weeks after Sculptra® treatment, there is a natural rise in dermal skin thickness and will continue to increase over the next six months with results lasting up to two years.

Sculptra® is intended to be used in a series of treatments, with at least three treatments or sessions spaced two to four months apart.
